Presently made up of Manitou Springs residents Nancy Fortuin (flute), Beth Romano (cello), and Betsey Niebuhr (viola, violin) , the Players perform at local markets, street events, and special events. With a growing repertoire ranging from folk to classical the musicians have been playing together since 2021.

For over 45 years Michael has devoted his musical study to the acoustic guitar. He has studied with many of the finest classical guitarists, such as Ricardo Iznaola, Masalto, and William Kann-Engizner. Michael has mastered such composers as Bach, Beethoven, Scarlatti, Debussey, Kleyjans, Tarrega, Chopin and many others. Michael expresses great passion and love for his music.  In his repertoire, he offers Spanish, Baroque, Classical and South American pieces.

Music has been my calling since I was six years old. Watching Michael Jackson perform lit a spark in me, and having a father who’s sung his whole life and plays multiple instruments made music feel like part of my DNA. I grew up surrounded by it, learning jazz piano, developing my voice, and eventually stepping into production. Today, I compose and create music in Spanish, always staying rooted in my Caribbean and South American roots.

My name is Al Ameda, and I’m a singer-songwriter based out of Colorado Springs. Originally from Texas, my folk-adjacent fingerpicking style is playful, melodic, and influenced by my roots in the South. To me, songwriting is a vehicle to discovery and connection about universal human emotions and experiences. I explore themes of loss, joy, friendship, love, and conflict, drawing connections between my own stories, the natural world, and the full spectrum of truths inherent to humanity. At the heart of A Carpenter’s Daughter are Michael and Chelsea, a duo whose shared love for music fuels every note they play. While the core remains the two of them, they often expand into a full four-piece band depending on the venue, bringing a rich, dynamic sound to their performances. Their music is rooted in folk rock and Americana, but their appreciation for all genres seeps into their style, creating a sound that feels both familiar and uniquely their own. With lyrics that explore themes of love and life in the mountains, their songs are honest reflections of the world around them—stories told through melody, harmony, and heart.

​The Last Train to Folsom formed in 2004 in Granada, Spain, comprising buskers looking to band together. Originally (and always) a three piece in spirit, we are now too often separated inter-continentally. Inspired by the folk, rock, blues and country of Cash and Dylan and many others, the music brings us back together when we can. Two of us, Marcus Medina and Jamie Cooper have been performing in Manitou Springs again for another ride on the “ Last Train to Folsom “. Catch it while you can !

​​Butterfly Assembly, a music duo led by singer-songwriters Lisa and Shannon McElvaney, creates original indie Rock/Americana music filled with deep lyrics and rich vocal harmonies on acoustic guitar, bass, and violin. Our music is more than just a collection of songs; it's an invitation to explore the human experience through the power of sound. Dive into the heart of our musical universe and uncover the magic woven into each original song. 

We dedicate our music to all the brave souls who, like butterflies, go through unexpectedly difficult experiences in life, only to transform over time into beautiful beings. Looking deep within, we see that change is the very essence of life. We are being assembled (and reassembled) daily, and every obstacle we face presents an opportunity for meaningful growth. As a community, we are quite the assembly of butterflies!

​Zach was born in Okinawa Japan to two marine musicians. Music was always playing in the house and the discussions usually revolved around music. He picked up the clarinet at age seven and started playing in bands a couple years later. When he was fourteen he joined the Colorado Springs youth symphony, where he was truly able to excel in his musicianship due to excellent guidance and the skill level of the peers around him. The exacting and precise nature of classical music began to frustrate him and soon after his graduation from highschool he turned to jazz music, for it's freedom of expression. In 2023 he quit his job and began pursuing music full time dedicating himself to the fundamentals of jazz theory and studying the history of the music for authenticity. He bought himself a tenor saxophone and would play it wherever people would let him play. As it stands now you can find him filling the air of Manitou Springs with jazz music, or sitting in with a band at one of the local clubs.
